The week started well and ended even better for freshman swimmer Cole Plumber. On Tuesday, the Iowan became the first HU men's swimmer in seven years to be named Men's Swimming Athlete Of The Week.

On Saturday, he won three events as the Piper men defeated UW-River falls for the first time in anybody's recent memory, 152-143.

Plumber's big day started when he nosed out teammate Ethan Ross by three tenths of a second to win the 200 Freestyle. Apparently that distance is to his liking because he traveled it again to win the Butterfly by 15 seconds.

The capper came in the 500 free when Cole edged out his WRF foe by a mere .17 to claim top honors.

It was the last warmup for the Piper swimmers. They head to the U of Minnesota next week for the MIAC meet.
