Evan Cordell has certainly warmed up to the start of the baseball season. The junior outfielder had a riproaring time of it in Tucson last week as the Pipers won three of their first five games. 

Evan did his part, going 10-for-20, scoring right runs and driving in a dozen. He tore up Williams on Sunday, going 5-for-5 in the opener and finishing a productive day with seven hits in 10 official at bats. His .556 batting average and 17 RBI lead all MIAC players in the early going of the season.

The Pipers, who are 5-2 overall, have three games remoining in Arizona (a doubleheader today with Oberlin and a single game with Buena Vista). They are scheduled to open MIAC play March 29 against Gustavus Adolphus at Midway Stadium.
