Kambria Blakely made her last appearance as a Hamline gymnast something to remember. The Georgia senior absolutely nailed her Floor Exercisae performance, scoring a 9.9 (including a rare 10.0 from on ejudge) to win the NCGA Championship in Ithaca, NY.

It marked the second year in a row that a HU athlete had won this event. (Courtney Benson did so last year.)

Blakely has been dazzling them on the mat for four years here. She and Benson formed one of the most impressive duos in HU history. She capped her career at the NCGA event with an impressive effort that finished with a backward flip that sent the crowd roaring.

It was the kind of performance that would be hard to top under any circumstances. And it re-affirmed what HU coach Doug Byrnes and the gymnastics community has known for some time -- that Blakely, who is also a very good student, is a champion.
