TRIA Rink
The Pipers hockey teams play in one of the finest -- and most unusual -- arenas in the country. Located on the fifth floor of a former department store at 400 Wabasha St. N.,TRIA Rink offers a picturesque setting that includes a window overlooking downtown St. Paul. The arena, which seats approximately 1,500 spectators, is also the home practice facility for the NHL's Minnesota Wild.
Hamline's men's and women's hockey teams have their own locker rooms and will practice there as well as playing all home games there. The HU women's team played the school's first game there, a 9-2 win over Marian on January 5, 2018. On March 9, 2019, Hamline hosted their first-ever NCAA D III women's quarterfinal, defeating Wis-River Falls, 5-1, before a packed house.Â
Parking is available in a ramp inside the building. In addition to being able to drive within walking distance of the arena, fans can get to the TRIA via the Saint Paul Skyway System via Skyway Bridge 16 on the 6th Street side and Skyway Bridge 7 via Wells Fargo Place on the Cedar Street Side. Take the public elevators from the skyway (level 3) to Level 5 to gain access to the arena. There are also several on-street parking availabilities. Fans entering at the street level simply go the elevators and head up to Level 5. TRIA Rink is located on the top floor of Treasure Island Center, a facility that houses several other businesses.
In addition to the Wild and Hamline, TRIAÂ also serves as the home ice for the Minnesota Whitecaps, an expansion franchise in the National Women's Hockey League. Several high school and youth games are played there. The arena also has open skating times. For more information on the facility, click here.
