Box Score HU gave up four third period goals and dropped a 5-1 decision to St. John's Saturday night in St. Cloud.
Jordan Johnson, who missed the game on Friday due to concussion issues, had the only Piper goal at 10:13 of the third period. At the time, it cut the SJU lead to 2-1. The Johnnies, however, scored the last three goals of the game and pulled away in the later stages of the period.
Matt Hemingway had 26 saves in goal.
Hamline, which had lost just one of its previous five games, fell to 1-15-5 on the season, 1-8-3 in the MIAC.
The Pipers face Gustavus Adolphus (9-7-3, 3-5-2 MIAC) this week. They will meet the Gusties on Friday, February 1 in Rosemount before heading to St. Peter for the rematch the next night.
