Box Score
The gang is starting to get back together. Grant Fahnhorst (2) put his hulking presence on defense and Nick Heimer was back in goal for Hamline Friday night. Both played well but the Pipers fell, 2-1, to Bethel.
Heimer had 18 saves in his return after sidelined after being bowled over in a crease collision November 15 against UW-Eau Claire. Fahnhorst returned to the ice for the first time since being injured November 9 against UW-River Falls.Â
The Pipers put up a stiff fight against the Royals, giving up a first period goal and another one midway in the final frame. Heimer was pulled for a sixth attacker with 2;15 left. The move paid off when Tyler Gonzales finished off a three way play with Cody Mason and Joe Rubbelke at 18:44. That was as close as HU could get, however.
Hamline (0-8-1 overall, 0-3-0 MIAC) finished with a 28-20 edge in shots on goal for the night.Â
The teams meet again Saturday night in Blaine. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
