Box Score For the second night in a row, the Hamline men's hockey team earned a point against Gustavus Adolphus. As was the case Friday night, the two teams stood even after 65 minutes. Last night, it was 3-3. This time, it was 2-2. As was the case last night, HU goalieÂ
John Sellie-Hanson was nearly impregnable, recording a career high 44 saves.Â
Unfortunately, Sellie-Hanson gave up one more goal than his counterpart in the shootout that followed the 65 minutes of play. The Gusties eventually won the shootout, 2-1, to claim the extra point in the MIAC standings.Â
Brandon Zurn gave Hamline the early lead. Tyler Lapic replied twice to push the Gusties ahead, 2-1.Â
Cody Mason (pictured) then evened matters with a nifty shorthanded goal 11:09 into the third period. After that, Sellie-Hanson and his counterpart, Erik Johnson, became brick walls, leading to the shootout.
Kevin Novakovich went first and scored. The Gusties responded in kind with Lapic scoring. HU missed their next three shots and GAC scored on its fourth try.Â
Hamline is 3-3-2 overall and 0-0-2 in MIAC play. Their next game is December 5 against Bethel in Blaine. The teams face off at Oscar Johnson Arena the next night.
