Box Score UW-River Falls scored a pair of goals just 2 1/2 minutes apart late in the first period and that was enough to defeat Hamline's men's hockey team, 3-1, Friday night at Hunt Arena. 

The undefeated Falcons (11-0-0) beat HU starting goalie Erick Majerle at 16:06 and 18:31 of the opening frame to grab a 2-0 lead. WRF upped the margin to 3-0 in the middle period against John Sellie-Hanson before Andrew Herbert (pictured) responded for the Pipers at 17:37. 

That was it for the scoring. Despite outshooting the Falcons, 9-5, in the third period and 31-22 for the game, HU could get no closer. Mitch Hall led the Pipers with six shots on goal. 

Hamline fell to 4-4-3 overall on the season. They return to action January 9 against Lake Forest at Oscar Johnson Arena.
