Novo got things off to a good start with his seventh goal of the season just 68 seconds in the game. It was the lone tally of a period that saw the Cardinals hold a 12-11 edge in shots on goal.

The Cardinals came back with two tallies in the first 6:16 of the third period to knot the game at 4.Â
Andrew Herbert's first goal of the year at 10:40 gave Hamline a 5-4 lead that held until the Cardinals tied the game in the final minute. They won it in the last minute of OT, sending the Pipers to their fourth extra time loss of the year.
John Sellie-Hanson had 38 saves in goal for Hamline.
The teams wrap up the season Sunday, February 23 when they meet at Ken Yackel Arena in West St. Paul. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
