Nate Mondry's goal 1:49 in OT lifted the Johnnies to a 3-2 win over the Pipers Saturday in St. Cloud. Hamline had rallied from a 2-0 deficit but dropped to 2-18-1 overall, 1-11 in the MIAC.
SJU held a 2-0 edge when the Pipers erupted twice in the waning minutes of the middle frame.
Ryan McElhone (9) struck first, nailing his first of the season on feeds from
Anthony Wolfe and
Joel Scatterelli at 18:10. 63 seconds later,
Kevin Novakovich finished off a three-way play with
Cody Mason and
Zach Johnson for his team high sixth of the season and the game was tied.
It stayed that way through a taut third period, leading to the extra session.

The Pipers return to action next weekend against Augsburg. They play Friday night in Minneapolis and come back to Oscar Johnson Saturday night. Both games are set for 7:05 p.m. starts.
