Box Score Mitch Hall (pictured) provided the offense for Hamline men's hockey team in a 3-1 loss at UW-River Falls Thursday. The defenseman scored a power play goal at 12:02 of the second period and led the Pipers in shots on goal with seven as HU lost their first game of the season to fall to 2-1-2 overall. 

After a scoreless first period, the Falcons scored a pair of power play goals and added a shorthanded effort in the first 11:43 of the second period to grab a 3-0 lead. Hall responded 19 seconds later, finishing off a play with Brandon Zurn and Charlie Adams. 

But that was all the offense the Pipers could muster. In addition to Hall, Zurn unloaded five shots on goal as part of Hamline's 28 shot attack. 

HU goalie Justin Quale recorded 25 saves. 

Hamline will face another Badger state foe Saturday when UW-Superior visits Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
