Coold Shooting Hurts W BBall In Home Finale

2/14/2015 3:13:00 PM

Box Score By the time the Hamline women's basketball team found their shooting touch, it was a bit too late.

St. Olaf took advantage of some early struggles in the field to jump to a 17-point halftime lead and defeat the Pipers in their final appearance of the season at Hutton Arena, 72-47. Chloe Graves went 7-7 from the free throw line and led the Pipers in scoring with 23 points and four rebounds. Chelsey Bonsante added 11 markers as Hamline's two-game wining streak was halted. HU now stands 12-11 overall, 7-9 in the MIAC.

The Pipers shot just 30 per cent from the field for the game (15-50). Bonsante opened the scoring with a jumper but that was the only time the Pipers led. St. Olaf led 32-17 at halftime.

Before the game, Hamline honored seniors Makenzie Lee, Krystina Rasmussen and the injured Jordan Sammons

Hamline finishes the season next week with games at St. Catherine (Feb. 18, 7:00 p.m.) and St. Thomas (Feb. 21, 1:00 p.m.)
