Box Score One night after winning a wild shootout over St. John's, the Hamline men's hockey team ran into a brick wall. SJU goalie Saxton Soley stopped all 33 shots sent his way and Hamline took a 2-0 loss Saturday night at Oscar Johnson Arena.

The Pipers dropped back to sixth place -- two out of the final playoff spot -- with 19 points. Augsburg (who they will play next week) and St. John's have 21 points. St. Mary's -- their final weekend foe -- is third with 22 points.

Both goalies --  Hamline's John Sellie-Hanson (pictured) and Soley -- were superb all night. Sellie-Hanson was tested early and often, making 20 of his 38 saves in the first period alone. The Johnnies scored a second period goal and it stand up until getting an empty netter with 62 seconds left in the game.

The Pipers had their chances. Brandon Reinholz led their offense with six shots on goal. Charlie Adams, who scored four goals in Friday's 6-5 win in St. Cloud had three in the this period. HU had a late power play in that period but Soley held firm to deal the Pipers their first shutout of the season.

Hamline is now 9-8-4 overall and 5-4-3 in the MIAC. They will play Augsburg (10-11, 7-5) on Friday, February 13 at Oscar Johnson at 7:00 p.m. The teams will face off at Augsburg Arena in Minneapolis the next night at 7:05 p.m.
