Box Score Hamline's women's basketball team matched Augsburg in field goals Wednesday at 22 apiece. They stayed with them on the boards as well as each team finished with 31 rebounds. But the Auggies connected on two more three-pointers and did the rest of their damage at the free throw line in recording a 61-49 victory over the Pipers at Hutton Arena.Â
Chloe Graves led the Pipers with 16 points withÂ
Chelsey Bonsante adding 11 andÂ
Haley Greene a career high 10 with five rebounds. However, Hamline went to the free throw line just once all night -- missing the shot. The Auggies made 10 of 11 from the line and that was a key difference as Hamline fell to 3-9 overall, 1-4 in the MIAC.Â
The Pipers got off to rocky start, trailing 19-10 after the first 10 minutes of play. They got as close as six at one point before heading to the locker room down 32-24. They worked the margin down to five points in the fourth quarter before giving way to Auggie senior Maria Loughlin, who hit six three-pointers -- two in the final stanza.Â
Alison Bartak grabbed seven rebounds to lead all players in that department.Â
Hamline returns to Hutton Saturday against Gustavus Adolphus. It's the second game of men's-women's doubleheader and is scheduled to start around 3:00 p.m.
