Box Score Jake O'Borsky's first period goal was enough offense for Hamline's men's hockey team to earn a 1-1 overtime tie vs. Concordia at Moorhead Sports Center Friday night. The sophomore scored for the second time in three games to help the Pipers end a five-game losing streak and moved to 6-6-3 overall, 3-3-1 in the MIAC.
Justin Quale was superb in goal with a career high 47 saves.
Unfortunately, Concordia won the shootout, 2-1, to earn the extra point.
O'Borsky finished off a three-way play with
Chad Hennum and
Mitch Hall at 18:11 to give HU a lead that would last until CC tied matters midway in the third period. After the teams went through a scoreless overtime, the game went to a three-person shootout. Each team scored once with
Brandon Wahlin clicking for HU. The Cobbers connected on the second extra shot to win the extra point.
The teams will see each other again Saturday in Moorhead. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
