1/24/2017 9:41:00 PM

Box Score Two goals less than two minutes apart late in the second period proved to be undoing of the Hamline men's hockey team in a 5-2 loss to Wis-River Falls at Oscar Johnson Arena. The game was tied at 2 when the Falcons struck for goals at 15:02 and 16:57 and later added an empty netter.

Cody Bentzel and Dan Bartkowiak had the markers for Hamline.

The Falcons put the Pipers in a quick hole with a goal 19 seconds into the game. Bentzel evened matters with a power play tally at 1:59. The score stayed stuck at 1 until WRF connected seven minutes into the middle frame. Bartkowiak, who had scored only two goals in three previous seasons, tallied his third of the year to knot the game at 2 at 13:45.

Hamline outshot WRF, 30-24, for the game. HU goalie John Sellie-Hanson had 19 saves, including stopping two breakaways in the third period.
