11/17/2017 10:11:00 PM

Box Score The HU women's basketball team held Northwestern to just 27 percent shooting from the field. Unfortunately, UNW was equally tough on the Piper shooters and rallied in the second half for a 45-36 decision in Roseville Friday.

Reilly Geistfeld scored eight points and added a game high 11 rebounds for HU, now 0-2 on the season. Molly Wampler and Kaeli Stayer also scored eight points with Heather Moore (pictured) chipping in with six markers.

It was a tight game until the final minutes. HU grabbed an early 5-1 lead and led 13-10 after a quarter. The Pipers kept the Eagles at bay in the second quarter as well, taking a 17-16 advantage into the locker room. The Eagles scored the first eight points of the third quarter for a seven point lead. Wampler, a freshman, led a comeback that tied the game at 27 but a late three-pointer put UNW up 30-27 after three.

The Eagles started the fourth frame on a 6-0 lead and held HU off the rest of the way.

The Pipers get back in action Saturday at North Central (0-1) in downtown Minneapolis. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
