Box Score A 17 day break couldn't come at a better time for the Hamline men's hockey team. The Pipers grabbed an early lead but couldn't hold off Wis-River Falls and took a 4-2 loss Tuesday night at Oscar Johnson Arena. HU fell to 3-5 overall with the result.

The game started well. Mitch McPherson finished off a three-way play for a power play goal with just 3:11 gone. The Falcons tied the game but Mitch Bentfield (pictured) fired in his first college goal from the slot to give the Pipers a 2-1 edge after a period.

The Falcons, however, tied the game 12 seconds into the second period and took the lead on a power play at 5:15. River Falls kept up the pressure on Piper goalie Justin Quale the rest of the period but the junior held tough with 14 saves. Hamline had pressure in the third period but it was the Falcons who came up with the goal on a power play.

Hamline is now idle until Friday, December 8 when they open a two-game series against Concordia at Oscar Johnson Arena.  Game time on Friday the 8th is 7:15 p.m.
