Box Score It was a coaches' dream -- a balanced offensive attack -- Tuesday for the Hamline women's hockey team. Five different players netted goals as the Pipers evened their 2017-18 record at 1-1 with a 5-2 non-conference victory over Wis-Superior at the latter's Wessman Arena.
Sarah Bobrowski (who also had two assistts), Becca Zarembinski,
Taylor Ramthun,
Dani Perry and
Leah Schwartzman had the goals for HU, which outshot the Yellowjackets by a 38-31 margin.
Bobrowski, a senior, got things going by feeding Zarembinski to open the scoring 9:35 into the game. At 11:56, Bobrowski potted her first Piper tally, a solo effort.
In the second period, Ramthun made it 3-0 at 2:26. UWS got that one back but Bobrowski and Zarembinski combined to set up Schwartzman for a power play goal and the Pipers had a 4-1 advantage. Perry's power play effort at 16:10 of the third period salted the game away.
McKenna Hulslander had a solid college debut, kicking away 29 shots to earn the win.
HU now turns its focus to MIAC play. They open league play Thursday night against St. Benedict (0-2) in St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. The teams also play Friday in the Pipers' home opener at Oscar Johnson Arena. That game begins at 7:15 p.m.
