Box Score The HU women's basketball team placed four players in double digit scoring but a second half Concordia rally was too much to handle in an 81-66 loss in Moorhead Saturday.
Chloe Graves and
Alaina Quaranta scored 13 points each with
Tia Diggins adding 12 and
Kaeli Stayer adding 11. Quaranta, a sophomore transfer, and Stayer, a freshman, each connected on three three-point shots for HU (5-18 overall, 2-14 MIAC).
Reilly Geistfeld had a strong game with a team high seven rebounds and three steals.
Things started out well for Hamline. Buoyed by five three-pointers, HU led 21-20 after a quarter, led by 11 points at one point and went to the locker room at halftime with a 39-33 lead. The Cobbers made a 12-4 run in the waning moments of the third quarter to inch ahead 53-50 after three periods. They exploded for 28 fourth quarter points -- half of which came at the free throw line -- for the win. For the game, CC was 25-for-35 from the stripe while Hamline converted five of 11 tries.
The Pipers finish the season at home next week. St. Benedict visits Hutton Arena on Wednesday, February 15 for a 7 p.m. game. The season finale is Friday, February 18 against Macalester at 1 p.m.
