Russ Jordan UWS 18

Jordan Records 50th Career Point In 3-1 M Hockey Loss

1/16/2018 9:12:00 PM

Box Score Russ Jordan hit the half century mark for career points Tuesday for the Hamline men's hockey team. The Illinois born winger scored the game's first goal and now has 28 goals and 22 assists for his career at HU. He hit the mark in the Pipers' 3-1 loss to St. John's at TRIA Rink.

Jordan's eighth tally of the season opened the scoring 1:49 into the second period. It came on a power play that was started by Jesse Kessler.  Kessler slipped the puck to Cody Bentzel, who tapped it to Jordan, who sailed in for the goal.

Unfortunately, that was all the offense Hamline could muster. Piper goalie Evan Robert was superb again with 27 saves. But the Johnnies scored twice in a 2:20 span in the second period and added one midway in the third to close out the scoring.

Hamline, which had won two games in a row, is now 5-10-1 overall and 1-6-1 in MIAC games. The Pipers play a home and home set with St. Olaf this weekend. The teams play Friday in Northfield (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday at TRIA Rink (7:00 p.m.)
