1/31/2018 9:17:00 PM

Box Score Molly Wampler continued her hot streak at the free throw line and had a career high 15 points for the Hamline women's basketball team in a 78-56 loss to Augsburg in Minneapolis Wednesday night. Aly Sartain also had a career high with 10 rebounds for the Pipers, who fell to 4-16 overall, 3-10 in MIAC play.

Wampler, a freshman, hit on all seven of her free throw tries Wednesday. She has made her last 17 shots in a row and her overall free throw percentage of .935 (58-62) ranks second in the country for D-III women hoopsters.

Sartain, a sophomore, nearly had her first career double-double with nine points. (Kaeli Stayer was the second leading scorer for the Pipers with 13 points. Reilly Geistfeld was the next best board battler with eight rebounds.)

Hamline started fast, grabbing a 25-15 first quarter lead and extending to 45-33 at halftime. But the homestanding Auggies warmed up in the second half and the Pipers struggled from the field. HU was very good at the free throw line, making 14 of 16 shots overall.

HU now returns to Hutton Arena for three of their next four games. First up: Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, February 3. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
