Morgen Coleman has been busy on the Hutton Arena court for the past six months. But she doesn't seem to tire of it. The sophomore poured in a dozen points -- a figure matched by
Alaina Quaranta -- for Hamline in an 89-47 loss to Gustavus Adolphus Saturday afternoon. It was the second best scoring output for Coleman, who added a team high five rebounds and four assists for the Pipers, now 4-17 overall, 3-11 in the MIAC.
Molly Wampler stretched her streak of consecutively made free throws to 21 in a row with a 4-for-4 effort from the line. The freshman is 62-for-66 from the stripe, a 93.9 percentage that ranks second in the country for D-III shooters.
A rough start put the Pipers in a 29-12 hole after a quarter. HU rallied in the second quarter to get within 10 at 32-22 but the Gusties scored the next seven points en route to a 45-24 halftime bulge.
Hamline remains at Hutton Arena to face Bethel on Wednesday, February 7. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
