ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Hamline women's basketball team (4-2, 1-2 MIAC) fell to Gustavus (5-1, 2-0 MIAC by a score of 76-57 on Wednesday night at Hutton Arena after seeing an evenly matched first half.

Reilly Geistfeld, who each ended in double figures. Anderson-Manning shot a perfect 3-3 from the floor, including hitting two from three-point range, ending with a total of 11 points. Geistfeld led the Pipers in scoring shooting five of nine overall for 12 points while also racking up a team-high of six rebounds. First-Year
Tess Hauer also shot an efficient clip shooting four of six from the floor for a career-high nine points
The first half was evenly matched as the Pipers headed into the locker room down 37-32. The Pipers got off to a hot start as they sprinted out to a 12-4 lead a few minutes into the first quarter. Gustavus was able to weather the early storm and got hot themselves, taking a lead into the intermission, despite HU going on a five-point run to end the half.
Gustavus built on their first half success and outscored the Pipers 21-8 in the third quarter as Hamline came out cold. Ava Gonsorowski lead the charge for Gustavus racking up a game-high 23 points while shooting 66% overall and 75% from three.
Hamline was outrebounded by Gustavus 40-24, leading to a 9-3 edge in second chance points for the Gusties. The Gustavus defense was stifling on the night as Hamline shot 37% from the floor compared to Gustavus' 53%.
HU will be back in action on Saturday, December 7 at 3:00 pm at Hutton Arena when they will host Saint Benedict. The men's team will play before them at 1:00 p.m. against Saint John's.
