Kira Krueger's three RBI home run highlighted a five run inning that propelled Hamline to a 6-1 softball victory over Northwestern in the opener of a doubleheader Thursday in Roseville.The Eagles turned things around for a 7-3 decision in the second game to earn a split and drop the Pipers to 7-9 overall.
In the opener, HU trailed 1-0 in the third inning when
Megan Rubbelke tied matters with a sacrifice fly. Krueger, the next batter up, drilled her homer and HU rolled to victory from there.
Kat Armstrong singled home another run.
Riley Husom scored twice and
Alex Molloy took it from there, twirling a complete game six-hitter to get the win.
In the second game,
Anna O'Connor scored two runs.
Delaney Kohler and Rubbelke had two hits each.
HU ventures into MIAC play this weekend. Hamline will be the home team but will play at St. Thomas Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. HU will play at Macalester March 31, also at 1:00 p.m.
