Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Lacrosse Gets Back on Winning Track In Style

It didn't take long for the Hamline lacrosse team to get back to winning ways. A 12 goal first half outburst will do that for you.

The Pipers had a season high for goals in a half and rode the waves from there for a 16-4 win over Northwestern Tuesday night at Klas Field. Hamline improved to 12-1 overall and remained in first place in the Midwest Women's lacrosse Conference with a 9-0 standard with the big win.

Maya Hernandexzcontinues to heat it up with four goals. She now has 30 on the season, two short of the team lead. Lexus Tatge and Dani Perry (22) added three each as HU improved their all-time Klas Field to 25-1. Alycia Monserrate Novotny was in a giving mood all night with four assists. Molly Dionne recorded seven saves in 45:36 of playing time to earn the win in goal.

HU came out aggressive, scoring five times in the first 7:43 of play. They scored the first seven goals of the game and finished the half with five of the last six netters for a 12-2 halftime margin.

For the game, Hamline outshot the Eagles, 41-15 and also held a sizable advantage in ground balls, 36-15.

HU finishes up its regular season home slate this weekend against Benedictine (Friday, August 19 at 4:00 p.m.) and Aurora (Saturday, August 20 at noon).
