The Piper baseball team received two solid pitching performances in a MIAC doubleheader against Gustavus Adolphus at CHS Field. Unfortunately, they ran into very good Gustie pitching efforts and dropped a pair of 3-0 games.
In the opener,
Nolan Schoonveld scattered eight hits over 5.2 innings but was victimized when the only two batters he walked eventually scored runs.
Devin Rodgers had two of Hamline's four hits with
Cullen Buck and
Cyle Hartwig garnering the others.
In the nightcap, four pitchers held GAC to five hits. Hamline, however, could only muster two first inning runners on an error and a walk and an
Eric Erb second sinning single off GAC pitcher Charlie Hutchinson.
The Pipers are now 13-18 overall, 5-9 in MIAC play. Hamline hosts Crown Thursday at CHS in a nine-inning non-conference affair that commences at 5:00 p.m.
