Just ask Hanline, which erupted for five runs to break a 1-all tie at Concordia and then staved off a late rally for a harried 6-5 win in the opener of a doubleheader in Moorhead Tuesday. The Pipers led the second game, 5-2, after seven innings when the game was suspended due to darkness. It will have to be finished at a later date at a site to be determined.

Ben Resnick was dealing for six plus innings, The junior shackled the Cobbers completely for six frames, allowing just two hits. The game was a 1-1 draw entering the seventh when HU exploded for five runs. The first seven batters reached base with
Cullen Buck,
Devin Rodgers,
Avery Nelson and
Jake Dujmovic providing RBIs. Rodgers later scored on a wild pitch, a run that proved to be vital.
Concordia loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the inning. CC got within a run and had a runner on third before
Jimmy Skroch squelched matters for good to earn a save and give the Pipers their third straight MIAC win. In the second game, Buck had two hits and two RBI and Dujmovic was 3-for-3 when the game was halted. Under MIAC rules, this is scheduled as a nine inning game.
It wil be resumed on Friday, April 19 at CHS Field at 2:30 p.m.
The Pipers are now 10-13 overall, 3-4 in MIAC play. The scheduled April 11 game against Wis-Stout at CHS Field, has been postponed. HU returns to MIAC play April 17 against St. Mary's, also at CHS Field. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
