ST. PAUL, Minn. - This year's Hamline athletic awards have been moved to an online setting, with the athletic website announcing the three finalists for each award today, Wednesday, May 6. The winners of each award will be announced on Sunday, May 10.

The Kent Bracewell Award recognizes one male senior student-athlete for their outstanding academic achievement. It is given to the male student-athlete who has the highest GPA and who has made significant contributions to his sport.

The award is named in honor of Dr. Kent Bracewell, a former chair of the Math and Physics Department, who taught at Hamline for 40 years.

-Started all 10 games at center for the Pipers this past season
-Two-time MIAC All-Academic honoree

-Earned five MIAC All-Conference honors in his career as a Piper
-Qualified for the NCAA Championships three times, once in cross country and twice in the mile on the track
-Honored with five Central All-Region awards
-Three-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American
-Named to the MIAC All-Academic Team three times
-Placed fifth in the MIAC at the cross country conference championships, and placed 12
th in the region this past year

-Competed at the MIAC Championships in the 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, and 1650 Freestyle this past season
-Named a team captain for both his junior and senior seasons
-Named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team this past year
-Served as the Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress' Public Relations Chair
-Involved in the Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD) office as the Marketing and Graphics Coordinator
-Participated in the Hamline University Neighborhood Advisory Committee (HUNAC) as a student representative
