ST. PAUL, Minn. - In their first indoor meet of the season, the Hamline University men's track and field team won seven different events, but fell to Bethel in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Royals tallied 73 points to Hamline's 52.

In his first meet as a collegiate runner, first year
Bobby Moua brought home a win in the 60-meter dash, beating seven other runners with a time of 7.36. First year teammate
Tae'Vion Wilkins was not far behind, coming in second with a time of 7.44 and
Josh Peterson was third with a time of 7.52. Moua also took fourth (out of eight) in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.13.

Junior
Tyler Gallagher won a tight 800-meter race, finishing .05 ahead of a Bethel runner, with a time of 2:06.05. Junior
Aric Brodie also ran in a particularly close race, finishing 0.06 seconds behind the winner to take second in the mile run (4:30.57). First year
Jeremy Davie (5:01.79) and junior
Thomas Razidlo also ran in the mile race, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the field events, junior
Christian Velishek won the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters and first year
Josh Lynch won the pole vault with a height of 3.65 meters.

Senior
Joe Martin picked up right where he left off last season with a win in the shot put. His mark of 17.06 meters was over two meters farther than the next competitor.

The Pipers also recorded wins in the triple jump and 400-meter run as Bethel did not enter a competitor in these events. Junior
Thomas Amberg jumped 10.97 meters in the triple jump and first year
Josh Sedarski finished the 400-meter race in 1:05.50.

The team will compete next on February 7 when they travel to Saint John's in Collegeville for another dual meet. More details will be available on the schedule page as they become finalized.
