SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team continued their three-game home stand to open the 2021-22 season with a Wednesday-evening bout against Martin Luther College. The Pipers picked up their first victory of the season with an 85-52 drubbing of the Knights.

The Pipers utilized 19 players in the contest, while Martin Luther also went deep into their bench as 15 individuals saw playing time. All 15 of Larisa O'Neil's points in the contest occurred from the three-point line, as she converted a 5-of-11 figure off the bench and engineered a Hamline team that accumulated a 12-of-31 mark from downtown. Chan'el Anderson-Manning tied for a team-leading three steals with Sophie Findell, and added 12 points off 4-of-7 shooting. Lydia Lecher rounded out the Pipers in double-figure with 10 points. Findell added four assists along with nine points for Hamline.
Jordyn Heckendorf led Martin Luther with 14 points.
The Pipers will host Augsburg in their 2021-22 MIAC opener on Saturday, November 20 at 1 p.m.
