STORM LAKE, IOWA—The Hamline University women's basketball team returned to action after a 19-day hiatus from competition on Thursday afternoon, when they traveled to Buena Vista University. The Pipers pushed their win streak to six games with a 65-58 decision over the Beavers.
Â
Hamline improves to 7-2, while Buena Vista falls to 4-6. This marks the Pipers' longest win streak since the 2019-20 campaign, when they strung together seven victories from December 11 – January 15.

Hamline 65, Buena Vista 58
Â
Hamline registered a season-high six blocks, led by three apiece from
Tess Hauer and
Chan'el Anderson-Manning. The Pipers couldn't maintain that momentum on the glass as they were out-rebounded 40-30 and surrendered 14 offensive rebounds along with a season-high 20 second-chance points. It didn't matter in the end, as
Sarah Loken's layup with 3:05 left in the first quarter gave Hamline a 7-5 lead, and would never trail from that point forward in a 65-58 victory.
Â
Tess Hauer came through with a double-double that included 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Pipers, while
Lydia Lecher and
Alyssa Williamson each led the scorers with 12 points and three assists. Taylor Krager led Buena Vista with a game-high 17 points, while Mallory McCall (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Vanessa Hamlett (10 points, 11 rebounds) each notched a double-double.
Â
The Pipers will return to MIAC play on Wednesday, January 5 at St. Scholastica. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
