ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Hamline men's track and field team competed at St. Thomas on Friday evening, compiling two event wins and seven finishes within the top-three throughout the meet.

Senior
Joe Martin won the shot put for the Pipers with a new season-best mark of 17.26 meters, which currently ranks first in the nation among all Division III throwers.

Junior
Christian Velishek tallied the other event win for Hamline, winning the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters. Senior Jarick Reiffer was third in that event with a height of 1.80 meters.

Hamline also had a strong showing in the sprinting events, as first year
Bobby Moua took second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.23. Sophomore
Josh Peterson placed fourth in that race (7.40) and first year
Tae'Vion Wilkins placed fifth (7.43). Peterson added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 24.23. Wilkins was not far behind, finishing fifth (24.88) and first year
Carter Kienholz placed sixth (25.21).

Junior
Zach Angstman had two finishes in the top-four in the hurdle events, taking third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.42) and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.91).

In the 400-meter dash first year
Raul Ortiz placed third (55.49) and junior
Tyler Gallagher added a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.81. Teammate
Aric Brodie was sixth in that 800 race, finishing in 2:04.38.

In the pole vault, first year
Josh Lynch earned a fourth-place finish (4.00 meters), and junior
Thomas Amberg placed fifth in the long jump (5.92 meters).

The Pipers will compete again next weekend in their final meet of the 2021 indoor season, heading to Bethel on February 27.
