WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Hamline lacrosse team (1-2) finished up the weekend with a 15-6 road loss to Carroll (3-1) on Sunday afternoon. The Pipers had three different players score twice in the game, with sophomore
Taryn Leonard, senior
Ashley Hessler, and senior
Maya Hernandez each tallying two goals.

Both Leonard and Hessler ended with three total points, also adding an assist. Hernandez led HU in draw controls with three and sophomore
Michaela Arnold picked up the most ground balls for the Pipers with three in the game. Â

Alyssa Bryan-Jeffries recorded 11 saves for the Pipers and now has 34 saves on the season.

The Pioneers scored three goals early in the game, taking a 3-0 lead after the first two minutes. Â They would add two more goals before Hamline got on the board, with a free-position goal from Hessler. Leonard made it two in a row for the Pipers scoring a minute and half later, taking a pass from Hessler and burying it in the back of the net to make the score 5-2. Carroll would get five of the final six goals of the half, to take a 10-3 lead into the break. Hernandez scored the final Hamline goal of the half, capitalizing on a free position shot.

Carroll scored the first two goals of the second half, but Hernandez scored again for the Pipers (on another free position shot) making it 12-4. Three straight goals from the Pioneers put them up by 11 at 15-4, but Hamline would get the final two goals of the game, with Hessler scoring from a pass from Leonard and Leonard scoring on a free position shot.

The Pipers have their first home game of the season this Wednesday, March 17 when they will welcome Northwestern to Klas Field for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game.
