COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Hamline men's track and field team traveled north to compete at the SJU/CSB Invite on Saturday afternoon in their second outdoor meet of the season.

Senior
Joe Martin recorded an event win for the Pipers, winning the shot put with a distance of 16.42 meters. This put him ahead of all 18 other competitors in the event. The distance also ranks sixth in the nation among Division III throwers.

First year
Michael Braun put up two second-place performances for Hamline, reaching 13.32 meters in the triple jump and 1.85 meters in the high jump. Sam Dabrowski also competed in the high jump for HU, taking sixth with a mark of 1.60 meters.

Junior
Zach Angstman had the final top-three performance, taking second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.07, which is a career-best for the Princeton native. Senior
McKail Hertzog was close behind in the race, taking fourth with a time of 17.46 meters.

In the 800-meter race, both junior
Tyler Gallagher and junior
Aric Brodie finished in the top-five, as Gallagher placed fourth (2:01.45) and Brodie took fifth (2:02.70).

In the sprints, Hamline had an eighth-place finish from sophomore
Josh Peterson in the 200-meter dash, as he crossed the finish line in 23.45. In the 100-meter dash, junior
Christian Velishek, Peterson, and first year
Tae'Vion Wilkins all had a close race, finishing within .03 seconds of each other. Velishek edged out Peterson and Wilkins, finishing ninth with a time of 11.48. Peterson finished 10
th with a time of 11.49 and Wilkins placed 11
th with a time of 11.51.

The Pipers will compete again next weekend, hosting a meet at Klas Field on Saturday, April 17.
