DULUTH, Minn. - The Hamline baseball team (13-24) took on St. Scholastica (18-7) this afternoon in their final regular season game of the season, falling 10-0 in seven innings in Duluth.

Four hits and a walk for the Saints in the first, allowed them to take a quick 4-0 lead. They would tack on two more in the second, when a triple drove in a pair of runs. Both would be unearned, as a Piper error extended the inning.
Junior
Will Tzavaras and the HU defense would hold St. Scholastica scoreless in the third, but they would score again in the fourth when a hit-by-pitch and back-to-back hits scored two more, making it 8-0. Two runs in the sixth would give the Saints all they needed to end the game early after holding the Pipers scoreless.

Colin Schuetz singled, but they would be stranded on base. HU would also have a runner in scoring position in the fifth, when first year
Braeden Bourne doubled with two outs, but the Saints would record the third out before he could score.
Zack Langton would tally the final hit on the day, singling to left in the sixth.

The Piper pitching staff shared today's duties, with six different pitchers making an appearance.
Hayden Ring was the first to pitch, giving up four runs on four hits.
Braden Schneider came in in the second inning, allowing two runs (neither earned) and Tzavaras put up a zero in the third.
Jonah Smallfield pitched the fourth, giving up two runs.
Josh Cary was next in, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up the final two runs.
Taylor Just pitched the final 0.2 innings, helping HU get out of a jam, stranding three runners in the sixth.

Hamline will now shift their focus to the MIAC Playoffs play-in series this weekend. The Pipers received the No. 9 seed and will take on the No. 4 seed, Saint John's in a best of three series. Game one will be played on Saturday, May 15 at CHS Field at 10:30 a.m. Then the teams will meet again on Sunday, May 16 for games at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. in Collegeville. The winner of the series will feed into the 2021 MIAC Playoff Tournament that will begin on Wednesday, May 19.
