Pipers Defeat Augsburg in the Pool

AUGSBURG DUAL RESULTS 
MACALESTER MEET RESULTS

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University swimming & diving teams were in action on Saturday as the women hosted Augsburg at Bush Center Pool, while the men competed at Macalester. The women took first place of two teams with 180 points, while the men didn't record a team score.

Courtney Broyles notched a pair of first-place scores of 239.60 in the 3-meter dive, and 222.35 in the 1-meter dive

First-place scores continued to roll in for the women courtesy of Morgan Schrader in the 1000 yard freestyle (12:33.66), followed by Sila Yurttas in the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.47) and 500 yard freestyle (5:52.83). Bennett Nigro registered a trio of first-place times in the 50 yard backstroke (32.22), 100 yard backstroke (1:10.79) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.57).

Sarah Wood was victorious in the 50 yard butterfly with a 30.78, while Julie Mesita took gold in the 200 yard IM with a 2:56.14.

The men recorded no finishes at the Macalester meet.

The Pipers will compete in the MIAC Championship at the University of Minnesota on February 16-19.
