SAINT PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University women's basketball team looked to extend their hot start when they hosted Carleton Wednesday night. The Pipers cruised as they remained at the top of the MIAC coming away with a 77-52 win.
The Pipers will move to 7-0 (4-0 MIAC), while with the loss Carleton will fall to 1-6 (0-5 MIAC).

The two teams came out trading blows in this conference clash, with Carleton grabbing an early lead before the Pipers battled their way back to take a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Pipers then came out in the second quarter firing, starting the period on an 11-0 run to take control of the game. From there the Knights were never able to get it back within single-digits and a big three-point play from senior
Iyanna Wieland to close the half put Hamline up 39-22 at halftime. A small push at the end of the third by the Knights was able to cut a 21 point lead to 14 to give them life. The Pipers closed out in the final period strong though allowing just one made field goal in the first eight minutes of the quarter and pushing the lead out as far as 29 before wrapping up the win.

Michaela Stamer with 17 points knocking down four three-pointer's, right behind her was
Larisa O'Neil sinking 3 three's of her own on her way to 11 points.
Lydia Lecher also added 10 points for Hamline.
The Knights were led by 14 points from Amelia Solt, and got 11 from Jasmine Choi.
The Pipers will be back in action Saturday, December 10, when they welcome Saint Benedict to Hutton Arena at 3 p.m.
