NEWBURG, ORE.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team's first-of-two spring break games on the west coast occurred on Wednesday night at George Fox (Ore.). The Bruins were too much for the Pipers en route to a 17-5 victory.
George Fox stays undefeated at 7-0, while Hamline falls to 1-3 overall.

After a 7-1 first-quarter deficit, Hamline was able to weather the storm as they outshot George Fox 6-5 in the second frame. It resulted in just one goal for Hamline, who found themselves in an 11-1 halftime deficit that was too much to overcome in the end.
Maria Lewis contributed a pair of Piper goals; while Maitland Luksan, Michaela Arnold, and Molly Garin each netted one. Arnold led the way with three draw controls, two ground balls, and picked up Hamline's lone assist in the game.
George Fox outshot Hamline 28-17. Pipers goalie Justine Case made five saves, while Bruins net minders Ella Rand and Emma Webb split time and collectively notched nine saves.
Hamline will return to action on Friday, March 18 at Willamette (Ore.) for a 5 p.m. (PT) game time.
