ST. PETER, MINN.—The No. 2 seed Hamline University women's hockey team embarked on their third overall appearance in the MIAC Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, when they traveled to No. 1 seed Gustavus Adolphus. The Pipers couldn't convert their second MIAC Tournament Title as the Gusties cruised to a 6-1 victory in front of 1,037 fans.
Hamline falls to 15-10 overall, while Gustavus Adolphus earns the MIAC's automatic berth into the 2021-22 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship with a 22-3-2 overall record.

The Gusties, who took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission, dominated with a 43-11 advantage in shots throughout the contest. Pipers leading scorer Sophie Rausch cut her team's deficit to 2-1 at 6:40 of the second period with her 21st goal of the season before the Gusties closed the game with four unanswered goals to secure a 6-1 victory.
Three-of-six Gustavus goals occurred on special teams, one shorthanded and two on the power play. Hailey Holland, Hannah Gray, Brooke Power, Kristina Press, Emily Olson, and Heather Olinger each scored for the Gusties, who finished the game 2-for-4 with the player advantage.
Hamline goalie McKenna Hulslander made 37 saves, while Gusties netminder Katie McCoy stopped 10 shots.
