LA CROSSE, WIS.—The Hamline University women's volleyball team embarked on a day trip to UW-La Crosse for a pair of matches against Edgewood, and the host Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers finished the day with a pair of 3-0 losses.
Hamline exits the day with a 1-10 record. Edgewood moved to 5-4, while UW-La Crosse improved to 5-7.
Jenna Rubbelke was among seven individuals to be named to the All-UW-La Crosse Tournament Team.
Edgewood 3, Hamline 0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-14)
The Pipers struggled to find their stroke as they hit under .100 in each set, while the Eagles managed to eclipse a .200 mark in each frame en route to a game figure of .325. Jenna Rubbelke helped put a stop to their attack with a team-high nine digs for Hamline.
Lindsay Eckelman led the Hamline offense with six kills, set up by Katrina St. Clair's 10 assists.
Sixteen individuals saw action for Edgewood, who were led by Ashley Bruehlman's eight kills and Kate Gunderson's 21 assists.
UW-La Crosse 3, Hamline 0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20)
The ball began to find the floor for Hamline in the second match, as they hovered the .200 hitting mark in each frame. It wasn't enough as the Eagles mustered a .330 percentage, 49 kills, and eight service aces en route to a 3-0 victory. Hamline finished the match with a .196 hitting figure.
Faith Johnson paced the Hamline offense with eight kills. Kaitlyn Kotek and Katrina St. Clair split reps at setter with 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Jenna Rubbelke came through with 10 digs, and a pair of service aces for the Pipers, while Lauren Wilborn posted a team-best three service aces.
Megan Adams commanded UW-La Crosse with 26 assists and 10 digs, while Brianne Korducki led the way with 11 kills.
The Pipers will host Saint Benedict at Hutton Arena on Wednesday, September 21 at 7 p.m.
