WINONA, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team's final weekday road game of the season pitted them at Saint Mary's (Minn.) for a Monday-night battle. The Pipers led for a majority of the opening quarter before Graysin Hartjes's three-pointer in the final seconds of the frame gave the Cardinals a 16-15 lead, which proved to be the game's turning point as they never relinquished that advantage in a 70-57 decision.
Hamline falls to 13-6, 10-6 MIAC, while Saint Mary's improves to 6-13, 5-11 MIAC.

Larisa O'Neil continued her hot shooting with a pair of three-pointers in the opening stages of the first quarter, which engineered a Hamline squad that took an 11-4 lead with 5:33 on the clock. The Cardinals responded with a 12-4 run to end the frame capped by Hartjes's three-pointer with 0:4 left that gave them a 16-15 edge. Saint Mary's led from that point forward in a 70-57 victory over the Pipers.
The Pipers committed just five turnovers against the Cardinals' 20, and shot an effective 17-of-23 (.739) from the charity stripe. But it was Saint Mary's (Minn.) who converted 11 three-pointers, and held Hamline to just four makes from beyond the arch.
Chan'el Anderson-Manning led the Pipers with 10 points, while Lydia Lecher pulled down a team-leading 10 boards and three steals. Brooklyn Paulson registered a game-high 26 points for a Saint Mary's squad that shot 23-of-52 (.442) from the floor.
Hamline will host Bethel on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 p.m.
