SAINT PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University women's basketball team was in action again Wednesday night to take on No. 14 Gustavus Adolphus in a matchup at Hutton Arena. The Pipers struggled early and couldn't recover as the Gusties ran away with the 64-41 win.
The loss will drop the Pipers to 17-7 (14-7 MIAC), while the Gusties improve to 22-2 (19-2 MIAC).
Hamline 41 Gustavus 64
Gustavus took command early in this MIAC matchup leading 23-9 after the first 10 minutes. They continued to stretch their lead from there, getting the score to 41-21 at the break. The Pipers then came out of the second half with some life getting the lead down to 13 after a
Faith Johnson layup. They weren't able to get it any closer than that as the Gusties got the lead back to 52-32, and cruise from there taking home the win 64-41.
The Pipers were led by 10 points from
Lydia Lecher.
The Gusties got 14 points from Anna Sanders and 12 from Kylie Baranick.
Hamline will close the regular season Saturday, February 18 at 3 p.m. when they travel to Concordia (Minn.).
