MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University swimming & diving teams competed at the University of Minnesota Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday, as well as the Carleton Dodd Diving Invitational on Saturday.
Courtney Broyles represented the women at the Carleton Dodd Diving Invitational, where she posted first-place scores in the 1-meter (249.50, six attempts) and 3-meter (240.20, six attempts) dives.
Friday's portion of the Minnesota Last Chance Meet saw Sarah Wood capture eighth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:11.18. Wood's stellar swimming carried over into Saturday evening, when she kept the eighth-place trend going with a time of 2:35.21 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
For the men, George Hubbard highlighted Hamline on Friday with a 10th-place time of 21.88 in the 50-yard freestyle. Hubbard kept that momentum going on Saturday, when he began the day with a time of 55.01 in the 100-yard backstroke en route to eighth place. He took advantage of the mid-day rest, as he prevailed with a fifth-place time of 48.54 in the 100-yard freestyle later in the day.
The Pipers will compete at the MIAC Championship (University of Minnesota) in Minneapolis on Wednesday, February 15 - Saturday, February 18.
