SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University women's hockey team welcomed in St. Kate's for a Saturday MIAC game. It was a season sweep, shutout, and 7-0 victory for the Pipers this afternoon at TRIA Rink. Hamline showed no sign of any weakness in today's conference matchup.Â

Hamline improves to 12-3 on the season, 7-1 in the conference, while St. Kate's falls to 5-8-1, 1-6-1 in the MIAC.Â

The Pipers started the game on fire with three first period goals. The first came from junior defender
Jaime Hort at 15:24 assisted by
Emme Nelson. Then a minute later Nelson scored one herself from
Cailey McLaughlin making the score 2-0. To wrap up the first period freshman forward
Annabel Mehta scored from
Abigail Chamernick with two minutes remaining to make the score 3-0 heading into the first intermission. Hamline picked up right how they left off the first period by scoring three more in the second.
Elizabeth Valley scored two of them, one at 12:04 assisted by Nelson, the other coming at 6:02 to make the score 5-0. The sixth goal came at 4:15 from
Nikki Olund assisted by
Morgan Wohlers and
Nancy Benedict adding onto their lead and closing out the period 6-0. The Pipers tacked on three more goals in the final frame. The scorers were Mehta, Chamernick, and
Haley Eder-Zdechlik to make the final score 9-0.
Airika Penney recorded a 12 save shutout for the Pipers.Â
