WINONA, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team's 12-0 run at the tail end powered them to a 65-55 road victory over Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Wednesday evening.
The Pipers improve to 8-9, 6-7 MIAC, while the Cardinals fall to 2-16, 0-13 MIAC.
Hamline 65, Saint Mary's 55
A majority of the fourth quarter saw that Cardinals in the driver's seat, 5:52 of clock time to be exact. Katelyn Cruze's layup with 4:08 left in the fourth gave Saint Mary's a 55-53 lead. That layup proved to be the Cardinals' final points of the game as it ignited a 12-0 Hamline run within the final 3:19 of play that secured them a 65-55 win.
Sophie Stork paced Hamline with 16 points, while Michaela Stamer had a game-high six assists and five rebounds along with 14 points. Camille Cummings came off the bench with 10 points for the Pipers, who achieved a season-high 19 assists as a squad.
Grace Schaffer led Saint Mary's with a game-high 18 points.
A whopping 11 lead changes occurred in the contest.
The Pipers will host Concordia (Minn.) at Hutton Arena on Saturday, January 27 at 1 p.m.
