This opening period picked up where the teams left off last night with a close chippy battle. The Pipers got the scoring started early with a power play goal then the Saints answered, tying the game at one with a power play goal for themselves. At 11:58 center Ashley Grabau scored on the power play to make the score 1-0 with the assist coming from Annabel Mehta and Cailey Mclaughlin. With three minutes remaining in the first period St. Scholastica tied the game up at 1-1. The power play goal came from Abby Pohlkamp. Goalies Kendra Nordic for Hamline recorded seven saves in the first while her counterpart Ashlea Arvidson had 19. The physicality will be a difference maker in the rest of the game to see who can break the tie. The game remains one a piece heading into the first intermission.

The second period standouts were all Hamline players attacking the net with shot after shot but goalie Makenzie Cole stood strong and recorded 20 saves keeping the Pipers scoreless in the period. Nordic for Hamline only faced three shots and saved each of them to keep the score tied. Each team has two penalties but both penalty kills were able to keep the offenses out of the net. The Pipers have out shot the Saints 40 to 11 after two periods. The score remains knotted up at 1-1 heading into the final intermission.

The Pipers got a hot start from Haley Eder-Zdechlik in the third period with two goals to break the tie and extend the lead to two. At 17:40 Eder-Zdechlik scored with the assist coming from her line mate Morgan Wohlers. To give Hamline some comfort on the scoreboard Eder-Zdechlik scores again with a power play goal assisted by Elizabeth Valley and Annika Lindgren making the score 3-1 in favor of the Pipers. Forward Payton Luff adds to the stellar period for Hamline with a goal at 6:08 to make the score 4-1. At 2:45, forward Syndey Lemke scored to make the score 5-1 with the assists coming from Lindgren and Nikki Olund. Lemke quickly added another goal to end the game and make the final score 6-1.
