MENOMONIE, WIS.--The Hamline University women's basketball team fell to UW-Stout 66-52 in Menomonie, Wisconsin on Tuesday night.
The Pipers fall to 3-2, while the Blue Devils improve to 5-2.

Both teams displayed a balanced performance with multiple turnovers in the first quarter. The Blue Devils took an early lead, with Amanda Giesen scoring a layup to make it 2-0. 
Yasmeen Abed of Hamline tied the game at 2-2 with a pair of free throws. Stout extended their advantage to 7-2 following a 3-pointer by Mary Berg and held the advantage for most of the frame. 
Camille Cummings hit a 3-pointer to narrow the gap to 9-5, but the Blue Devils maintained their lead, ending the quarter up 13-9. Both teams struggled with turnovers, each committing seven, while Stout capitalized on points in the paint with eight.
In the second quarter, Hamline scored 12 points while Stout managed nine. The frame saw a series of turnovers from both teams, with the Pipers recording six while the Blue Devils had five. Notable scoring efforts included a layup by 
Anna Rynkiewich of Hamline at 4:24 and a 3-pointer by 
Kate Trachsel at 3:54, which briefly put Hamline ahead. 
Camille Cummings contributed significantly with two 3-pointers, including one at 1:30 that kept the score close at 20-19 in favor of Hamline.  The quarter ended with the Blue Devils ahead by one point, 22-21.
In the third quarter, the Blue Devils maintained a steady lead over Hamline, ultimately outscoring them 22-16. The quarter began with Elissa Lodermeier scoring a jumper for Stout, and they continued to capitalize on the Pipers' turnovers. Hamline responded with 
Camille Cummings' layup at 8:17 and 
Kate Trachsel's 3-pointer at 7:14, briefly tying the game 26-26. However, Wis.-Stout pulled ahead with key free throws and a crucial 3-pointer by Allison Letcher at 2:15, extending their lead. Despite a late 3-pointer by 
Josie Wiebusch for Hamline, Stout closed out the quarter strong, finishing with a 44-37 advantage.
In the fourth quarter, Stout outscored Hamline 22-15, securing a win with a final-quarter surge. The Blue Devils' scoring was highlighted by Sam Schaeffer's layup and Anna Mutch's 3-pointer, contributing to a seven-point advantage over the Pipers. Hamline's effort was led by 
Camille Cummings, who scored consistently, including a late jumper by 
Sophie Stork to keep them competitive. Wis.-Stout maintained their lead through efficient shooting, particularly from the free-throw line and the paint, solidifying their victory in the final minutes.
Camille Cummings led the Pipers with 18 points. She was effective from beyond the arc, hitting three out of 3-point attempts and also recorded two steals. 
Kate Trachsel contributed 11 points, making three out of five 3-pointers. 
Anna Rynkiewich was notable on the boards, collecting a total of eight rebounds, while also adding seven points and three assists. 
Sophie Stork provided defensive support with two steals and six total rebounds.
Amanda Giesen led the Blue Devils with a notable performance, scoring 18 points. She was also effective from the field, making five baskets, and showed her proficiency at the free-throw line by sinking seven shots. Sam Schaeffer contributed defensively with three steals, matching her scoring with six points and adding three assists. Anna Mutch showcased her all-around skills by scoring 10 points, while also adding two steals and two assists. Elissa Lodermeier also reached double figures with 10 points, efficiently shooting 100% from the field and making five free throws.
The Pipers will open MIAC play at Macalester on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m.
