MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team made the short trip to Augsburg for a Saturday-afternoon affair. The Pipers had a 34-24 advantage in shots on goal, but a pair of power-play goals propelled the Auggies to a 2-1 victory, and weekend sweep.
Hamline falls to 16-7-0, 11-5-0 MIAC, while Augsburg improves to 17-6-0, 13-3-0 MIAC.

The Auggies' 2-of-6 mark on the power play included tallies from Kennedy Stein at 12:26 of the first period that made the score 1-0, and Nora Stepan at 7:01 of the third frame that widened the margin to 2-0.
The third period was all Hamline, who out shot Augsburg 16-4. It resulted in just one goal courtesy of Abigail Chamernick at 12:27Â that narrowed the Auggies' lead to 2-1. Morgan Wohlers and Haley Eder-Zdechlik had an assist on the play.
A whopping nine penalties were called in the contest.
Kendra Nordick made 22 saves in net for the Pipers, while Chloe Stockinger stopped 33 shots for the Auggies.
Hamline will host Bethel at TRIA Rink on Friday, February 16 at 6 p.m.
