SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team clinched a spot in the 2024 MIAC playoffs and prevailed with a 75-63 victory over St. Scholastica in their final home game of 2023-24 on Wednesday evening.
The Pipers improve to 12-11, 10-9 MIAC, while the Saints fall to 10-14, 7-12 MIAC.
Hamline 75, St. Scholastica 63
The opening stages resulted in an 11-0 run for the Pipers, who never trailed in the contest. This ignited St. Scholastica, who responded with a 23-12 run that knotted the contest at 23-23 with 4:06 left in the second quarter. That proved to be the lone tie of the game, as Sophie Stork's three-pointer with 3:49 on the clock put Hamline in front for good in a 75-63 victory over the Saints.
Stork paced the Pipers with 16 points along with three assists. Camille Cummings nailed 3-of-7 three-pointers en route to a 17-point performance along with two steals off the bench. Michaela Stamer registered a trio of three-pointers, which highlighted her 13-point outing along with a team-leading six assists. Lydia Lecher led Hamline with seven rebounds, and rounded out the double figure Pipers with 11 points.Â
Hamline finished with a .490 (25-of-51) field goal percentage, and 19 assists.Â
Kloey Lind finished with a game-high 18 points for St. Scholastica.
The win officially locked in a playoff spot for the Pipers and removed the Saints from playoff contention.Â
The Pipers will conclude the 2023-24 regular season at Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m.
